Design 1
Simple but sharp, spacious but intricate. Although I used a light application of sticks and planes, every last piece was strategically placed to create an aesthetic presentation. Through the use of both: black and white, raised and depressed planes, an illusion of depth and contrast is created. The planes also show path, entry, circulation, and well manipulation of space. The spiral on the vertical plane demonstrates asymmetry, intersection, transition, various types of rhythm, and relationship with the spiral located on the horizontal plane. Aside from the concepts demonstrated by the spiral on the vertical plane, the spiral on the horizontal plane shows hierarchy, transition, movement and reflection. Along the parti, there is a pattern of three diagonally placed squares. Instead of doing the obvious, I decided to connect the pattern with the others repeated across the parti.
